X-mas 2008

A very snowy holiday season this year. It took the city quite a few days to finally plow our road there was so much snow. It snowed and melted and snowed and melted...made for an interesting picture on the deck.

We were all at Glenn and Hazel's for Christmas eve and Christmas day. Amanda and Alayna had little stockings waiting for them in the morning.

And first things first, the girls were outside before they even had breakfast...still in their PJs.

Later Christmas day Wanda and her two girls, Melania and Mishayla, and June came over in time for Christmas dinner.

It's all fun and games until someone gets hurt...

Then the girls got into the dress-up box...

Melania might be cuter without the big hair.

And then an amazing dinner for over 20.

With WAY too much food...which is normal.

Presents came after we got back to our house.

With an interesting way of displaying them. We were waiting to see how long it would take the girls to notice they were up there! Not too long.

Sunday we went down to Grandpa and Grandma Jaconsen's for meeting and lunch.

The way I see it is that this is a beautiful season. All of the fall colors, like someone ran around during the night splashing burning orange and reds all over the trees. For some reason the colors are more impressive to me this year. Hopefully it's because I am appreciating them more and taking them in more.

I went for a walk the other day, taking pictures of the colors...the neighbors were probably wondering what this funny lady is doing taking pictures up into the sky.

Also, a quick update...my car is all better! Thanks for your notes, being blonde may not be all that bad. :) But I'm happy to have my little red bomber back.

Yes, I do believe that I'm blonde through and through.

How dumb can one get?? Why would one think that leaving a door open while backing out of the garage is a good idea??

*Sigh*

So, we're on the hunt for a door, preferably red but we're finding that it is going to be easier to just buy a door that's in good condition and get it painted.

Panorama Point

One of the most beautiful hikes I've been on, Panorama Point, up by Mount Rainier...which was very picture worthy.

Some of it was a bit treacherous...we crossed a large snow field in our runners and hiking boots where other hikers below us had crampons and ice picks.

We made some friends along the way too.

The Race!

September 20th was the big race day at Fisherman's Terminal. It was the day that I pretended that it was a matter of life and death to get into a beautiful orange suit, throw myself into the water, high-tail it 150 feet, and haul myself and my three teammates into a blowup raft. Fun...!

This is the prize we were all vying for...some better than others.

The Clipperetts!

We didn't win, we actaully placed 12th out of 14 but we beat the Coast Guard team...who was also disqualified because one guy was taking so long getting into his suit that he needed help and that's against the rules. tsk tsk.

Feels like Friday the 13th...

This morning was so bazaar, I have to write about it.

So, on Tuesday I munched my car door and it is now undrivable...b/c the driver door can't close. Since then, I've been driving Brian's car but last night on the way home, the 'check engine soon' light came on making that car unavailable as well. Thankfully we have the truck as well so I jumped in it this morning to go to work and it wouldn't start.

After calling Brian to ask what he suggested I do next, I thought about taking the bus but I didn't have any change so that option was out too. Brian suggests I call our neighbor, since he is on vacation and I catch him in Florida, filling out a police report. He told me to use his car to jump the truck, but that didn't work either so the truck is REALLY dead. After many more phone calls, my co-worker, Brooke, came by to pick me up....way out of her way, and I finally get to work 2.5 hours later than usual.

Talk about a comedy of errors! Oh and on top of that, my phone kept dropping calls, which it's never done before. Good timing on that too.
